Where Has the Fourth Grade Been?

Hello Fellow Friends and Life Long Learners,
I know this blog has been extremely quietly recently and you may be wondering where the Fourth Grade at Lafayette has been. Well, we have been extremely busy over the past few months with projects such as the Landmark Challenge.

Thanks for your support and interest in our learning. I hope you enjoy the new website.

It is sugar season in Franconia, NH and two fourth grades with the help of their dad created a video over the weekend to show the maple sugaring process in NH.  Watch the video to learn how you get that yummy maples syrup from a sugar maple tree.

Tyler Walker Visits the Classroom

I know this blog has been very quiet lately.  We have been in the middle of the landmark challenge hosted by Mr. Smith’s classroom and it has consumed us.  To learn more about the landmark challenge visit smithclass.org .  Below is a video my student made that highlight our discussions with Tyler Walker.  Tyler Walker is currently competing in the Paralympics in Vancouver.  Good Luck Tyler.

A Moose, A Bear, A Dear

Last week Nantz Comyns came to visit our school and worked with our students building three sculptures and some funky chickens.  The students used birch sticks and chicken wire to build the animals.  The teachers  built funky chickens one afternoon to join in on the fun.  It was a blast.
